Brainstorm Mode

When invoked with --brainstorm, epiphany-spec enters full interactive brainstorming mode. This activates two mandatory interactive stops (HG5):

Phase 5: Clarification Loop

The skill asks clarifying questions spanning multiple categories. The opening round asks K_min questions:

  • MINIMAL: 3 questions (single round)
  • STANDARD: 3-5 questions
  • DEEP: 4-6 questions

The user answers, provides additional context, or uses controls:

  • [DONE] --- satisfied, proceed
  • [SKIP] --- stop asking, log the rest
  • [ABORT] --- abort the pipeline

In full mode, answers can loop back for up to 3 iterations.

Phase 10.5: Design Approval Gate

After the adversarial review, the skill presents a design summary with 7 sections for review:

  1. Intent & Scope
  2. Requirements & Constraints
  3. Ambiguities Resolved & Open
  4. Solution Space Explored
  5. Chosen Design & Tradeoffs
  6. Risks & Falsifiability
  7. Design Readiness

Each section can be individually approved or sent back for rework.

Why brainstorm mode exists

The interactive mode ensures the human has opted into the dialogue. Self-confidence is not an exemption --- even a "converged" or "self-evident" input gets the full elicitation when the user requests it.
